Guide for authors
We welcome submissions that focus on empirical research and evaluation, or be based on non-empirical work (e.g., a critical think piece) that aligns with the key conference themes.
Submission requirements (poster or oral presentation)
Please ensure you include the following in your submission for either a poster or oral presentation:
Title: The title should be brief (maximum of 125 characters including spaces), clearly indicating the contents related to the conference themes.
Abstract: May not exceed 500 words and must be submitted in English. Abstracts should be as informative as possible including, as appropriate, objectives, methods, findings, and conclusions/implications. For non-empirical abstracts (e.g., for a critical think piece), include a clear overview of the focus, arguments and conclusions/implications of the paper.
Authors: Information must include name(s), organisation(s) and email address of all co-authors. When submitting the abstract, please choose one corresponding author. This author will be responsible for receiving correspondence. Conference information will only be sent to this author at the email address provided. The corresponding author is responsible for forwarding information onto all the other authors listed on the abstract.
The submission should specify who will be the presenting author. Conference registration must be confirmed by this author. The presenting author can be the same as the corresponding author. Individuals can make a maximum of three presentations.
Submission requirements (Symposium)
All symposium submissions must include either four or five papers that form part of a particular theme or topic, related to the conference themes. No more than two papers in a symposium can be led by the same authors. If submitting an abstract that forms part of a symposium, please follow the instructions above, and note the guidance below for titles.
Important: All abstracts that form part of a symposium have to be submitted with the title of the symposium first, followed by a dash (-), and then the title of the individual paper. For example:
- Social connections – Children in Care
- Social connections – Working with families
- Social connections – Supporting after care
- Social connections – Identity and belonging
